screen: chaos.
Gates closed, embassy
relocated to the airport
Americans and Afghanistanis can't get to.
An old man holding a child's hand walks away from the camera, helicopters
overhead taking people to planes where several days ago the desperate hung on
to the side of the plane as it rose
  like a bird
losing feathers. But those were not feathers. Those left now on the ground surge to the one-way
out of the 20-year war America has lost.
Journalists who would report on
the carnage are air-
lifted. Who
will write
"The
End"?
