Burlesque 1967

I
had
sucked air
eighteen years
before happening
my first and only burlesque show
long my hair hung in the theater backrow – audience
sparse with boys balding as my world war two dad hooting at strippers older than my mom
dull jokes-sloppy comics-strippers more sad than sexy
I touched the funny nose of time
to learn I can be
ever free
to cleave
to
clowns
