Jenny Clay, a New Zealander, has written poetry ever since she can
remember. A year spent on a Whitireia writing course in 1999 helped
her poetry into a more public arena. In 2005 she launched her first
poetry book 'Take a Leap' at Auckland's Poetry Live. She has been
published in Takahe, Live Lines, New Zealand Poetry Society
anthologies, in Poetry NZ 47, and a children's book Poetry Pudding,
and on the ezines Southern Ocean Review, Shot Glass Journal and Blackmail Press. In 2012
Jenny was the runner-up in the Kathleen Grattan prize for a sequence
of poems, and in 2013 she was winner of the Kevin Ireland poetry
competition.
