Refusing to Mark the Event Insignificant

So
once
there was
a scourge that
blanched the waters of
Lake Michigan, transformed the Loop
into a solo heartbeat, except for a twelve-toed
priest fleeing. It robbed the stolid General of his armor, electrified the steel
at Navy Pier, chiseled limestone blocks along the Point into a multitude of feet.
I'll never forget the blizzard that turned Wacker Drive
into a rout, while along the
Magnificent Mile
white feathers
bloomed in
the
snow
